It depends what is making her so nervous. You could get some mild sedatives from your vet which could help temporarily, but the only way to really fix the problem is to know what is bugging her first. Did the nervousness start with the addition of the other cats maybe? If so, perhaps she just needs some adjustment time. Or maybe she needs more attention from you. If this is a new problem, I'd just try to figure out why she has started acting this way & then go from there.

Do you recommend she's licking a niche bare? Or is pulling fur tufts out and eating them? i do no longer extremely be attentive to what you recommend. If the cat is pulling fur out, it is an indication of a nutrition hypersensitivity or an hypersensitivity to fleas. verify the cat with a comb to make certain if fleas are on her. If it is approximately licking till at last a niche is bare, it is a compulsive habit it extremely is according to some thing else, a telephone call to the vet for a consultation via telephone is a minimum of unfastened and can get you some concepts as to what to do.

There is something that they sell at the pet store to help calm pets down. It is a thing that you plug into an outlet the lets off calming pheramones (I don't think humans can smell it). I have heard that it works well. It looks kinda like a Glade Plug-In type thing. They sell it at PetsMart and Petco. If you describe it to an associate there, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I agree with jcn. It has worked wonders with my 2 girls who were actually fighting and ripping at each other, and it really helps with new cats who are very tense when they arrive at our boarding cattery! The product you need is "Feliway". It comes in either a spray bottle (spray the surroundings not the actual cat!!), or a plug-in diffuser. It is based on the pheromones that cats release from their facial glands when they "bunt" things (scent mark chairs, corners of walls etc by rubbing their cheek on it). "Feliway" is specifically designed for cats in nervous situations like travelling, new cats in the house etc, and is available from various websites, but the cheapest one is www.vet-pet-supplies-online.com . I would use the plug-in for your room where she is most of the time, and a bottle of spray for use in the house when she relaxes and comes out of your room. If your problems don't improve after 1 month, see your vet.

I suggest you go to www.spiritessence.com and read about flower essences. You may get some ideas of what would be suitable to use on your cat. They definitely can help with stress and behavior adjustments.
They can never do any harm, are inexpensive and easy to use. Drugs are expensive and sometimes have unpredictable side effects.

A really nice pet store will have calming drops for cats. I don't know if they work, but it will be worth a try.
