We perceive and/or invent (a) meaning(s) of life.
I suggest love and be loved. Like and be liked is also good.

It depends on what one does with their life. If one's life revolves around the banal and lacks any drive or passion then yes, I would say that person's life is pointless. If one has empassioned goals and sees how what they do affects the greater good, then their life has a purpose. A purpose in life takes the pointlessness out of existance. Every person has a purpose; it just takes time to find it. For some it takes more effort then others to find, but it is there. Look hard enough and you will find it. I have confidence in you. Self exploration is vital to our existance. Every great journey, even life, begins with one step and you just took that step by asking that all important question.

No, and for proof of this I suggest reading the book The Purpose Driven Life by evangelical pastor Rick Warren (I'm not even evangelical).
If life were pointless we humans wouldn't be equipped so heavily with the natural instinct to survive and thrive.
