This "soul" is an empty, meaningless word.
To say that a soul is ‘a mysterious gift’ or ‘without end’ or 'immaterial' is to say nothing more then some unknowable thing possesses some unknown qualities in an unknowable way.

Hi, you are a soul,I am a soul, we are all souls dwelling in our human bodies ,the soul is made in the image of God and is immortal, it never ceases to exist.
your question about human cloning is a very good one,and I believe that to clone a human being is repugnant in Gods eyes, for this is the sacrilegious act of man aping His Creator and this clone would not have a soul, and would be an open vehicle for demon possession.

YOU are your soul. You operate your Mind program on your Brain Hardware. NDE's and OBE's suggest that we do indeed exist beyond our physical bodies. As to clones, recall that twins are natural clones. And since they often seem to share something very deep, I tend to believe that they do indeed share a single soul. You can't have half a soul, but you can own two cars.
Does that help?

Actually, there's a difference between a soul and a spirit. No, our consciousness does not go on living after we die. The Bible says that when God breathed life into Adam, he BECAME a living soul - he didn't RECEIVE a soul. The word "spirit" actually means "breath", and has no consciousness of its own.
BREATH + BODY = SOUL (living body)
SOUL - BREATH = BODY (dead body)
It's like a lightbulb represents the body, and the electricity represents the breath, and the light that is produced is the soul. Where does the light go when you turn off the light? Nowhere, it ceases to exist. Likewise with the soul. At death, God's breath leaves the soul, leaving a dead body. The breath of God returns to him, but it is only breath, like yours or mine. It has no consciousness. It does not continue to exist after death. The Bible tells us that the dead are in a state of dreamless sleep until they are resurrected, if we are to describe it from the POV of the living. I'm glad too, because I wouldn't want my loved ones up in Heaven watching me make dumb mistakes and watching me suffer. This also prevents us from worshipping those who have died before us!

A soul is the animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity.

Thats why christians are so afraid of cloning. It will prove the soul is a myth. Its electromagnetic energy in our body. It just wanders off when you die.

The bible doesn't teach that we have a soul, it teaches that we are a soul. In fact it refers to the animals as souls. Each living soul.
Gen 2:7 "And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."
Gen. 1:20 "And God went on to say 'Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens."
Ecclesiates 9:5 says, "The living are conscious that they shall die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all..."
At Gen. 3:4 we have recorded the first lie ever told "At this the serpent said to the woman: " You positively will not die." All of the demon inspired religions of the world still promote that lie to this day!
Lastly Jesus himself refered to Lazarus as being asleep, when he was talking about the fact that he was dead.
John 11:11-15 "He said these things, and after this he said to them:' Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.' Therefore the disciples said to him:' Lord, if he has gone to rest, he will get well.' Jesus had spoken, however, about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. At that time, therefore, Jesus said to them outspokenly: " Lazarus has died, and I rejoice on your account that I was not there, in order for you to believe. But let us go to him." Clearly the bible does not teach that the soul continues living after you die, but the religious leaders, who are acting in their father's interest, promote the first lie that he told, in order to "blind the minds of the unbelievers" 2 cor. 4:3-4 "If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbeilevers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."
The bible does teach that therer is a resurrection, would there be a need for a resurrection, if we didn't really die?

The soul is immortal. Death of the physical body is when the soul can be moved to other worlds uncontactable through standard scientific means. These other dimensions can be reached through physical wormholes, but we haven't the means of developing the energy to create a wormhole.
