My in-laws have been married for nearly 40 years. What do you get people who literally have everything they want? Gift cards are out of the question.

How about putting togethe a photo album or memory book of you and your husband's years together? You can make chapters- photos of you both as kids, then as a dating couple, engaged, etc... up to the current day, with the kids, pets, whatever. If you have kids, they can draw pictures and make notes to Grammy and Poppa, and maybe even write little stories. Very personal, from the heart, and not expensive.

Some zoos or biological parks have programs where you can buy a "share" of an animal to provide for its food during the year. Depending on the animal (the bigger the more expensive it is) you can either buy one or all of its needs. You can usually choose for any animal on exhibit--birds, reptiles, etc. The person's name goes on a plaque where everyone can see it. Where I live it's called the "Zoo Parent Program".

You could donate to any charity they may have an interest in--especially something local--like a homeless shelter or a battered spouse shelter. Doctors Without Borderes is always looking for donations and is a very worthy cause. If they like to read, maybe you could donate a certain amount of money in their name to the local library--or better yet, to a school where the grandchildren go. Some cities or towns have programs where you can give the city money and they'll buy a tree and plant it in honor or that person.

Let your imagination go. Sounds as though they've been blessed to have so much it's time they gave to others.

Some suggestions:
1. Name a star after them - www.starregistry.com
2. Pay for a once in a lifetime vacation for them
3. Throw them a second wedding
4. Agree to do a hated chore for them for a year (mowing etc.)
5. Pay their utilities for a year
6. Rent an RV for them for a vacation and chauffeur them around.

Do they have a Bamboo/Reed Diffuser??

They're these really yummy smell good thingies. I have a cat, and I never smell cat b/c I have these things.

You can get a variety of different flavors at Pier 1. $12 a pop.

Better than scented candles, oil, or plug-ins.

I don't know about you, but I always want my place to smell good!

How much do you want to spend?

Plane tickets
A night in a hotel room for the weekend

No one has EVERYTHING they want.

How about a magazine subscription, a subscription to Netflix, a DVD player for each room of their house.

A home cooked dinner for two.

Bake a nice variety of dainties and buy a unique cookie jar and put them in it with a big ribbon & tag.
