You should only eat 3 apples or pears a day and it needs to be in conjunction with a low fat diet. Apples have fructose in them, if you eat 10 a day it will cause your pancreas to produce more insulin, which then lowers your metabolic rate, which will then make it more difficult to lose weight.

It depends. If you substitute snacking on apples (which are high in fiber and therefore will make you feel full faster) for snacking on things like cookies, candy and chips, then you will be consuming less calories which can lead to weight loss (i.e. to lose 1 lb, you must cut 3,500 calories out of your normal diet, which is about 500 per day - so if you decide to not have that bottle of coke (200 calories) each day, and to switch a medium apple (~72 calories) into your snack instead of that chocolate chunk cookie from Dunkin' Donuts (540 calories), keeping everything else the same that's 668 calories you've cut from your diet that day!). Making little changes like this and sticking with them will allow you to lose weight - adding in exercise will also help. Good luck! :)

Not if you supplement the apple eating with a diet of lard on toast, pizza, crisps, copious amounts of alcohol, chocolate, 8 sugars in a cup of tea etc etc. On the other hand, I'm sure just a diet consisting of apples would have some sort of detrimental effect, though not being a nutritionist, I'm not sure what that might be.

Only if you eat them instead of other things that might make you fat!
Eating apples is NOT going to 'make you thin'!!!!
Obviously if you fill yourself up with apples so that you aren't tempted to eat cakes, chips and sweets it might help.
Apples are a very healthy food and certainly aren't fattening.

Eating apples versus a candy bar would probably help you to lose weight but I doubt eating apples in general would make you thinner.

Yes, everything you hear on tv is true.

(sigh)

No, there is no particular food you can eat to make you thin. If you're old enough to access the internet, you should know that.

If you change your diet to just apples... yes you will be thin, ill as well...as you wont be getting all your nutrients.

DONT DIET

JUST CUT OUT THE CRAP... YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS... PROCESSED FOODS, WHITE BREAD, BISCUITS, CRISPS, CHOCOLATES, SWEETS, SACHET SOUPS ETC.... change it for wholemeal bread, reduce your meat intake and start eating loads of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, salads, beans and pulses with seeds....

If you eat only apples you will become thinner. If you eat apples as well as what you normally eat you will be fatter. This nutrition stuff is easy peasy!!

Yes its true, and if you eat 2 raw carrots a day (and nothing else), you will be thinner, and have wonderful teeth.
