What are the symptoms of the upset stomach? Is there diarrhea also? Does the dog just not eat? Vomiting? The vet will ask you these questions when you call them.
Yes, vets will prescribe Pepto for stomach upset, but you need to call them so that they can give you the correct doseage for the dog (by weight usually). Don't self dose.
They may also put the dog on a bland diet of boiled white rice and boiled chopped meat, chicken or cottage cheese. Ask them the best for your dog.

It is ok to give your dog a VERY low dose of pepto, it is sometimes RECOMMENDED by the vet, just call a vet and ask them as a general question, you'll see, but also, is your dog kind of sleepy all the time? kinda sad looking and weak? if so then your dog might be having a hypoglycemic fit, in which case you might want to give him some sugar fast as it can lead to other problems, like seizures and then possibly coma, but just put some honey on ur finger and rub it in the inside of your dogs mouth and on the gums, if you don't have that use some syrup, or if you want to be "proper" go to the pet store and by some nutrical or supercal. Good luck, i hope your puppy is doing better!

Usually when they just throw up phlem, it is because their stomach is empty.
Try boiled white rice and chicken (or potatoes) but just a little bit at a time.
You might also want to get a can of W/D dog food from the vet. I try and keep it around, it really helps settle my dog's stomach. It is very bland, but he likes it.

If you want to know the truth, I being a human cannot even take Pepto Bismol let alone a dog! Although I have to admit my dogs have gotten over pain using Liquid Tylenol mixed in their food.

Please don't give anything to your dog without first checking with the vet. If you give him something that isn't safe or if you give him the wrong dosage, it will end up costing you a lot more in the long run. Most vets can give you advice over the phone. What type of symptoms is he having that makes you think he has an upset stomach?

No way! Never give your dog a medicine that is not made for canines. I would get with the vet on this one. I'm sure there are some remedies at the pet store, as well.

Oh no! Please do not give you dog any medication intended for human consumption. Your vet can recommend any medication that you may have, but more likely they will want you to watch him and make sure he eat and drinks normally. I hope that he is better soon.
