I have included a couple of links to show you what some of the things God is accomplishing now and in the future. He is busy bringing about an end to this wicked system while at the same time allowing mankind an opportunity to demonstrate whether he is capable of ruling himself, or not, and allowing honest hearted ones to learn about him and his purposes.
God's original purpose was for planet Earth to be inhabited by righteous, perfect humans. The prophet Isaiah wrote: "This is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the true God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited."—Isaiah 45:18.
God's Kingdom is an actual government like our governments today and will rule over the earth in righteousness.
There will be millions of survivors on earth when Armageddon has run its course. (Revelation 7:9-14) The prophecy at Proverbs 2:21, 22 will have been fulfilled: "The upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it."

Making plans about the next step (see, the End of the World), keeping his creation from COMPLETELY destroying itself even if it's still on the fast tract to eventually do so (see Cuban Missle Crisiss), watching over his followers and most beloved creation, and generally doing the same thing he's been doing since Christ left the scene some two millenia ago.

THe bible gives us a couple of clues as to what God is doing during this time.

Jesus said he went to do prepare a place for us.

The Holy spirit part of God is here on earth keeping pure evil at bay. Not eliminating it, just keeping it at bay.

There is really nothing else biblically that I can give you as to what God is doing at the moment, but we do know that whatever it is, it is for the good of us all and it is being done with all knowledge and perfection.

God gets his rocks off condemning those not willing to stroke his vanity, by worshiping him in a highly proscribed manner, to an eternity of suffering in a lake of fire. Nice guy, Huh?

No body knows but he isn't anything like us. why do we ask ourselves this question while we can ask how we can thank and workship God for all the things he gave us and all the outstanding things he created.

Prove it.

Then once you've proven that a god has created all of this, then maybe we can theorize what he may be doing.
