I've painted my walls a light avocado-y green (Behr Grasscloth) and would like to introduce some orange into my decor, perhaps through throw pillows or other accessories, but I'm not sure if these colors go well together.

Yes, because an Orange is Green before it Ripen. Many colors when used properly will complement each other. But, say you want Pink and Purple. The Purple would be used as the predominant color and the pink be small enhancements. Hard to really explain. But, look at a color wheel. The Primary colors are made from Red, Blue and Yellow. If, I remember correct, so try to see this, all colors are made from these three, thus they have to complement each other as they a part of each other.
What you mention; The walls are your predominant color. The Orange can be pillows and maybe even "Knobs" on doors and drawers. Small little enhancements here and there. Then other Greens and some Earth Tones. Maybe a very light brown and yellow in Curtains. But, allow the predominant color to lead the show.

god... green walls how... great lol .. anyhow yuo should best get a piece of cloth and compare it to the wall. et a decent size about 50cm by 50 cm so you can get a view of how the pillows would look.
DULL orange will not work good with the green, although a brighter orange will.
Orange and green are not very complimentary together. a better colour match would have been blue and orange, but as said.. get a piece of orange cloth and put it against the wall for best perspective.

Green and orange are not complementary colors of each other.
Green is a complement of red and orange is a complement of blue. Complementary colors are colors opposite each other on the color wheel.
I would paint the walls a neutral color and add green and orange as accents in the room.

In the true definition of complementary colors, orange and green are not. Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel, green is opposite red, blue is opposite orange, and yellow is opposite purple. However, when it comes to decorating, just about anything goes. If you can find samples of colors and fabric that you want to used and place them in the room and see what you think.

They are called secondary colors(orange, green, purple) and like the primary colors(red, yellow, blue) they do relate to one another. I paint with these three colors all the time. Be brave and be in love with color... all colors go together... look at some books of fine art paintings you like and notice the colors used there... modern gypsy caravan is okay!

Yes they are. If you already have the pillows put them against the wall and see what you think. Are you trying to go for a modern look? If so, this will work.

Yes they do go, as long as you keep it simple and not fussy with too many accessories, it will look stylish. Add a few cushions and a vase or two.

you can make almost any color go together if you have a large picture or rug or some sort of fabric to bring them together
