I am going to a new church that has just been around since late July. So not too many people and I would like to help build up the youth of the church. How could I help get more youth into this brand new church?

Music play a vital role in the church..find some music to sing in service that cators to the type of children that will be attending your church. (as long as it stays within the standards of Christ) I find that a lot of youth like gospel rock, gospel hip-hop, etc. We are fishers of men and we have to be clever in what bait we use to draw the fish in. Activties such as after school tutoring, trips, and youth events, such as going to see gospel artist who sing the kinds of music stated above, amusement prks. plays. Sep teams, movie nights, the church can order pizza and have a shut in and the youth stay in church over night while endulging in Godly events inside church. they can mingle meet other kids thier own age. and have fun.. going to skating rinks. and much more i think you get my point.. kids dont like coming to church because there is nothing they can RELATE to...just think as a child "what would i like to do in church" ask God to show you and you'll come up with some things. also ask kids in the community..what would you like to see churches doing to reach out to the youth and get them involved..also ask them what keeps them away from church..kinda like a survey. :)

As a member of a worship band at our church I would agree that music is a major enfluence. Get familiar with what's hot in contemporary christian music and find musicians how can pull it off. Also develop youth activities that they can apply to their lives. I think especially teens are sensitive to being treated like contributing members of the church and society. Therefore they want more adult oriented, life appling lessons that will aid them during these troublesome times of their life. Develop a youth program that responds to their needs, allow input!

The local college had free Pizza night where we would discuss classes and sometimes the Bible. We would go to movies together on the supporters tab, because few of us could afford the extra expense. It was fun because the Bible topics were well researched.
