The Ronald McDonald House without a doubt. RMHC does so much for children and familes in 48 different countries but I didn't believe the "hype" until I experienced it first hand.

Long ago I dated a girl and her 2 year old developed a brain tumor. She had to stay with him in Denver, CO (she was from South Dakota) and ended up staying at the RMH there in Denver. It was within walking distance of the Children's Hospital there in Denver. I went there to visit and stayed a couple of days and all I can say is the staff at the RMH treated us so very well and were really there for her and her family in their time of need. Caring is so often just a word used to describe the way you should treat anyone...these people actually cared and went above and beyond helping her and her family. Ever since I have donated money to the RMHC year after year. In fact other than my church it is the only charity I would ever donate to.

So that is where my 3 million would go.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. They seem to have good priorities: a mix of educational support for the US and for developing countries, and money for research on high-priority health issues like AIDS in Africa. It seems to be well managed too. Warren Buffett recently decided to give a large chunk of his wealth to that foundation.

Charter Schools. Today so many public schools are failing and charter schools are free accredited schools that provide an excellent alternative to broken public schools. Too bad so many school districts want to shut charter schools down. School districts are embarrassed to see success where they failed. Charter Schools need all the donations they can possibly get.

I'd give it to cancer research. And maybe it could help the ones that I love and others' loved ones.

I'd split it up, half would go to the Samaritan's Purse and the other half would go to the ASPCA.
