If you are an Athiest, then there is no higher law then your own,
so if you lived in a society that that says that you can kill someone if they make you mad and its ;legal, Would it be okay ?
I ask this cause in some countries you can kill people for very mundane things and it is legal
Also things like child sex, beastiality, drugs, debt slavery are all legal and accpeted, woulndt these things be okay too if you follow no higher law then your own and your culture ? ?

If there is no higher power then your own, how can you decide what is wrong ?
What if no one agrees with you ?

No.
Would it be ok for YOU to murder if you didn't have to answer to the "higher law" of your deity?

First of all, just because I'm an Atheist, doesn't mean I don't have basic human knowledge, compassion, and decency. On top of that, I am a moral person (moral from a right/wrong stand point).
Secondly, I live in the UNITED STATES, where the GOVERNMENT makes my laws, and I abide by them. Your god doesn't rule me, nor does any supreme being. I am told what laws to follow by the country that I live in.
Finally, I think this question is disrespectful and rude. I don't jump up and down on your beliefs. It's a free country, and you can believe what you want. Why do you assume that all of us are evil or horrible people? We aren't! We just don't have the same beliefs.
If you were a true Christian, you would ask such hateful, ignorant questions. When you grow up and we can have a normal conversation, and your hate and intolerance towards others goes away, then we can talk.
Until then, get a life...and practice what you preach.

"If you are an Athiest, then there is no higher law then your own"
FALSE assumption. And if you think this is true you haven't really studied atheism. There is "no higher law dictated by fiat by some invisible sky daddy" but that doesn't mean a higher law cannot be found in some other source. For instance, if an atheist is an act-utilitarian the observations of utilitarianism are a higher law, if an atheist follows Kant's ethical system, then the a priori axioms which at least Kant felt were derived from REASON and OBSERVATION would form a higher law. This question is probably the most ignorant one I have seen today.

I am not an Atheist, but do consider myself an Agnostic. I believe that people should be nice to each other because they want to be not because a "higher power" tells them they have to be. Christianity has had so much violence in its past I don't think it is fair to say that child sex or beastiality is going to become legal in a country that doesn't have "God" as a major part of society. Look at how many Catholic priests have raped small children. In my opinion it is never ok to kill someone because they made you mad. Many many many wars have been fought because of religious differences, not necessarily because the others didn't believe in "God".

An atheist just said if their were no laws then they would commit murder but morals are implanted divinely or from good parenting which should be common sense but unfortunately they believe that a fetus is not human, men who lie with men are hurting each other or hurting others who gays sleep with which brings on diseases and such and they believe that stem cell research doesn't harm a human being also. These are examples of murders and if words were to kill then they would all go to jail but in God eyes words that speak against others who believe is murder. Poison lies within their tongues. They very hypocritical and immoral beings.

Yes, if the whole of the community agreed that murder was alright, the atheists would agree, just like everyone else.
You should be aware, by the way, that it is religious belief that allows such things in the places you're speaking of.
The Christian bible itself says slavery is a-ok. And I'm sure you may have heard a thing or two about how it condones murder and genocide. But hey, that's ancient history, right? Let's talk about its sister religion... islam. You may have noticed they don't have a big problem with murder either, as long as it's an "infidel"
Religion is a scourge on our society. I find it utterly repulsive. I hope one day you'll discover the truth of this, yourself.

Your question is interesting, but deserves a much longer answer than I am able to provide here. Even if there is no God, human society still has basic requirements of civility to function. A culture that accepts murder is not likely to survive for very long, so any sane person would try to direct their society into a direction of respecting human life.
You other examples have similar answers. Certain rules are needed to society to function.

How odd, all of the things you mentioned have been practiced by christianity at one time or another. Athiests can resist these things without being threatened with Hell. While christians seem to need the heaven and hell carrot to do or not do things. Rules of right and wrong were around long before the christians were. Most of the bible is bad copies of the sumerian myths anyway.

I have good morals like other Athiests. We know right from wrong and don't need a make believe person to tell us that.

What is wrong with Christians that they have to ask such ridiculous questions?
Why would it be ok to commit murder just because you're an Atheist? Wouldn't YOU rather be alive? Well, hey here's a shocker, so would everyone else.
You have to live in this world don't you? Well, hey so do Atheists. It's a nicer world isn't it when everyone isn't trying to hurt everyone else?
So no, it wouldn't be ok. An Atheist just doesn't live in fear that some god is going to torture them for eternity. Instead they know that they will pay IN THIS LIFE for their actions because society will make them pay. And this is the life that matters because this is the only life they have.
