In my opinion, religions are something we acquire when we are born. We start out by listening to our parents and if they are church/synagogue..whatever attending participants then we "follow" in their footsteps. This is old school. In todays society we have become "listeners" and decide if we want religion in our lives...it is a choice. It is very unfortunate that individualism has created such controversies....and friction. Just because "you" believe or not, actually, does not make a better world. It's the people that think we need to experience "WAR" (metaphorically) over these beliefs is what makes a cruel world. If we could let each other have our beliefs...and leave everyone alone and not try to differentiate between and try to influence others into believing they are the only correct religion ...then we would also have a better world. Just because you believe one way and I another doesn't mean I am right or you are wrong, or vice versa. It is just that we believe in something....and it would be a very sad day if we didn't believe in "something".

Every religion has the same basic teaching. Do not steal, rape, kill anybody. Do not do adultery, drink alcohol or degrade females. Do good deeds, help the neighbour...etc. etc. This in contrast to the most prevailing religion of Democracy where you have legal prostitutes, open alcohol bars and the biggest theives are made the Rulers.. You can judge yourself

I can answer this question with a famous quote. " The Christian resolution to find the world ugly and bad has made the world ugly and bad." - Friedrich Nietzsche 1844-1900 You don't need religion as long as you have faith.

Relgion is the moral guidance. Moral guidance is food for soul. Without it we would not be humans anymore.

Religion brings forth objective believers. Without it there would be subjective believers. Thats the difference between simplicity and chaos.

Religion makes humans humble and loving. If it doesn't then it isn't a religion at all.

Religion teaches us to respect the CREATOR, because of which we automatically respect all the creations. If not, everything will be taken for granted.

All you have to do is look around at the world, and the pain religion causes therein, to say resoundingly - NO!

ORGANIZED religion?? NOPE! No way...

But the true essence of 'religion' itself --a system of beliefs-- yes. It is intended to do just that.

Peace be with you.

I think it depends on how smart and open-minded people are .
If people aren't smart enough they will need religion to guide them with a list of 'do's and 'dont's .
