The first known "Bible" was a collection of translations into Latin by a monk who's name was not recorded. Written by hand, and copied over and over by hand, edited hundreds of times, added to, parts taken out. The first one is thought to have been done for Pope Clement I.

Many parts of it were already thousands of years old, but known under differing names.
