During the past week or two, I have barely eaten anything. I eat maybe half a meal a day, if that's possible, but much more fluids than usual. It made me lose about five pounds.
Over the weekend, I had this sudden craving of any food I could get my hands on. I couldn't stop, and I even gained one to three pounds from eating so much.
Today, and probably the rest of the week, I've had no appetite for anything -- even Powerade, and I drink a lot of it. I doubt it, but is this healthy?

I know some of you are talking about losing weight. I am NOT attempting to lose any weight whatsoever. I'm 5'4" and I'm around 111 pounds. It's healthy for my (small) body frame.
And I am a little stressed out lately. My dad pressures me a lot.
I'm not afraid of getting fat, because I don't gain weight very easily. I don't have any intention to throw up my food after eating or starving myself on purpose. I'm just not hungry.
Thanks. =]

From your question, you only mentioned about your craving and your appetite. Do you normally have this craving? Do you have the intention of losing weight? Stress could play a major role in our appetite too. Food craving could be due to unrealistic dietary restrictions. Strict dieting can make the person to crave or binge on those “unhealthy” foods. Being deprived of certain food can also lead to overeating. You can’t get nutrients that you need from powerade. You could have a bottle or maybe 2 per day, but drinking a lot and not eating enough is not good for your health. In order to avoid overeating, you must have balanced meals throughout the day. Do not starve yourself!

But of course this isnt healthy to go on a crash diet such as this - it can harm your internal organs in more ways than I could describe, not to mention you will throw off your metabolism so that when you DO start to eat again you will gain more as your body says 'YES, finally some food! I must keep more than usual for later.' Losing weight takes time, otherwise it wont stay off and you'll harm your body. Exercise, eat right (fresh fruits and veggies as much as possible, small amts of sweets and fried food, etc) and you will lose weight!! I know, I had 30lbs to lose once my daughter was born. It's all off now, but it takes more like a mth to lose 5lbs, not 1 wk!!

The key here is to burn fat not starve the fat. Once you starve yourself to loose fat your body responds in a way you did not want it to respond and you end up eating more than you should, gaining almost more than what you lost. This is one of the key aspects of Tom Venuto's weight loss and fitness program Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle.

No, this isn't healthy. Sounds like the early stages of an eating disorder.

No, it is not healthy. Follow the food groups carefully. if you eat and then not eat, you will get addicted to not eating or eating too much. Your body changes every time you eat.
