I went to a hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC. They had that cheezy breakfast in the lobby thing, but the pancakes were killer. I have no idea what kind they were but it wasn't regular pancake mix. It was almost like somekind of wheat or something. I miss those pancakes!

Hmm i wonder if they were buckwheat pancakes?

1 tbsp. active dry yeast
4 c. warm water
1 tsp. honey
1 tsp. salt
1 c. whole wheat flour
3 c. buckwheat flour
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tbsp. oil

In large mixing bowl dissolve yeast with 1 teaspoon honey. Combine salt and flours. Add to yeast mixture, mixing thoroughly. Cover bowl and allow to stand several hours or overnight. Batter should fill bowl no more than 1/2 full to allow for rising. When ready to bake pancakes stir down the batter and add 2 tablespoons honey, soda and oil. Mix well.
Spoon batter onto lightly greased, preheated griddle. Brown on both sides, turning only once. Serve hot with butter and honey or maple syrup. Makes about 5 cups of batter.

Were they multi-grain pancakes or buckwheat pancakes? Go to www.recipezaar.com or www.allrecipes.com. You may be able to find a recipe on there. Better yet, call that hotel and ask the cooking staff. They should be able to tell you what they were.
