hi,
I am a doctor from NEW jersey who just recently moved to Maryland.
i have all the necessary documents with valid passport and visa papers, proofs of residence in MD but still refused a drivers license in state of Maryland saying documents are incomplete. I have friends in other states who have been granted drivers license with the same papers, then why am I refused. My immigration lawyer said my papers are complete and no additional documents are required as proof for approval of license. What should i do now? Do you know of any good lawyers.

why not ask them what you need to do to make it "complete" by their standards?

You should not be consulting friends in other states for advise; each state has different laws concerning licenses. If your papers are truly incomplete and you are refused a driver license, you don't need a lawyer. Just take the DMV to small claims court, and the judge will have to issue his/her ruling in your favor.

Didn't you say you had a immigration lawyer? Get the refusal in writing. Someone might be pulling your chain.

You should go back or call them and ask them what else you need. If your lawyer says you aren't missing anything, then you probably aren't. Maybe the person you talked to just didn't know. Ask to speak to a supervisor. Here is a link to their website.
