I've got io interactive cable box, which includes: family plan, basic bradcast and international channals. I called the cable asked them if I can just have a family plan or just broadcast, but they taled me that one doesn't go without another. Does it work like this for every one or just for me???
P.S. feels like I'm working only for the bills.

I always hear people complain about the price of cable and I always ask...have you checked out Directv? and no I don't work for them or anything I'm just a happy customer whose rate doesn't go up every year.
Try their website and comapare what you have to them, it may not be apples to apples but...who know

Part of the way cable companies get paid is by carrying channels. Some cable channels literally pay them based on the number of subscribers who get the channel. So, removing channels from your lineup isn't necessarily going to result in you getting a smaller bill.

If you JUST want the broadcast channels, you may just have buy an antenna or rabbit ears and get them the old fashioned way.

Hello Linda. I pay about $100 per month for internet broadband and cable TV. It hurts when I write that check, but the reception is great. Take care Susan.

I think they don't want you to have the cheap one where you mainly get broadcast channels but I think they have to sell it to you. That's what we have in Kentucky. $12 a month.

just get a descrambler "black" box, keep the basic service with the cable company and you're all set...the "black box" will run you about $200-$300 bucks (a one time fee) ......
