AVS Video Editor
+++ Fast (compared to other video editing software)
+++ Really easy to use, I didn't need to read a manual before
+++ Excellent video editing: Scene detection, effects, timeline, storyboard... all you need
+++ You can easy add and edit audio tracks
+++ Can handle a lot of audio and video formats (import and save)
+++ Burns DVD and upload video to handhelds
--- Poor DVD menu creating and editing features

restructure question. are you going to be using digital or analog video? it matters when deciding on a software title. pinnacle has software and hardware to do either. i know i own pinnacle studio 10.6. buyer beware of additional plugins for added functionality at an additional cost..
