It depends on what is causing the redness. If it is recent sun damage, or "wind burn" from being outside in cool weather, using a daily sunscreen will help. If it is long-term sun damage, then the redness is somewhat permanent. It can be reduced with a procedure using intense pulse light (IPL), commonly called "Photo Facial". This treatment is not cheap, but it seems to get good results. Check out this link to see if this treatment is for you: http://www.marinaplasticsurgery.com/plastic_surgery/photo_facial.cfm
Obviously there can be many other reasons for facial redness, and your dermatologist would be the best person to give advice. Hope this helps.

I don't know the name of the treatment but they used to have a commercial on for Rustacea(sp?) which is a form of facial redness.
Maybe you can ask a pharmacist or see a dermatologist.
From what the ad showed it is very treatable.
good luck

Cortisone cream, which you can find in the drugstore next to the over-the-counter medicines.
It might be Rosacia, for which you will need to see a dermatologist.
