Urinary Tract Infection. If you can catch some sterile blood when she pees in the AM when she goes out. Maybe with a Ziploc bag or some kind of container that is clean and hasn't been previously used before, glad ware would work too. Keep it in the fridge and take it with you when you go to the vet so that they can run a test on it. They will most likely give you antibiotics and send her home. Worst case scenario they will do an x-ray and see if she has bladder stones which require surgery to remove if they have become large enough to block the urine. Good luck.

Female dogs do have periods...Female dogs will go into estrus commonly called "heat" about every six months. The onset of the heat cycle is usually signaled by a swelling of the vagina. Midway through the cycle the dog will discharge some blood from the vaginal area. During that time they are willing to breed with the male dog who may come from great distances to woo your dog! The complete heat cycle lasts approximately 3 weeks. If she's bleeding monthly on a regular basis then she should see a vet it may be a sign of a uterine infection.

Sounds like there is an infection or stones of some sort. Don't let people tell you that your dog is in pain, only you can tell that since you are with your dog and not sitting behind some computer screen a thousand miles away. Get her to the vet right away, any blood in the urine is a serioius problem.

Sounds like either a Urinary Tract Infection. A urine sample will be able to detect whether it is or not. If possible get a urine sample to bring to the vet. To do this, take a small aluminum pie pan and when she squats stick the pan under her to get any urine that might come out. Take the urine and put it in a clean Tupperware of small clean jar. If you're unable to get to the vet the urine sample can be place in the fridge.

Is she crying when she's trying to go? She could have a Urinary Blockage where crystals or stones get lodged in the urethra thereby blocking the flow of urine. That needs to be taken care of immediately.
