Their are 2 possibilities.

1. Some time ago you ate garlic induced food and it travelled into your sweat glands causing your hands to smell like garlic.

2. If any of your clothing, especially your shoes, have come in contact with garlic, it would then be possible to absorb the contents again transferring into you sweat glands.

If you want to test this theory, place garlic in your shoes and have a non-bias member smell your breath after an hour. I guarantee they will smell garlic.
If you want to get rid of the smell, wash your hands in tomato or lemon juice.

Hi Stephanie. Are you taking large doses of selenium supplements? Excessive intake of selenium can lead to a garlic odor (usually from the breath). The scientific reference is noted below.

Have you touched or eaten onions? I find sometimes Onions leave the same smell. Wash your hands in Lemon Juice that should get rid of the smell.

have you taken any selenium? dandruff shampoo?

that could do it....
