Bred my dog 3 days ago and she's still bleeding all over the house. I thought it stopped when they are bred. All help appreciated.

Just as the first answer said, the heat is about 3 weeks altogether. If she is bleeding all over the house then she is most likely done with her standing heat and will be like that for 1-2 weeks more. Buy her a little doggie diaper and put thin pads or liners in it. We do, in fact I usually cut a liner in half for extra $$ savings. Oh, buy the diaper at a Petsmart or a dog clothing store, get the pads at Target they are a lot cheaper there.

Just remember to take the diaper off when you let her outside. Somehow it always seems to be a forgotten detail at my house.

Dogs normally bleed for around 10 days, then have a clear (maybe blood tinged) discharge. They will continue to be "in heat" for about 3 weeks regardless if they are bred or not. If she has bred, it is time to put her on a good quality puppy food, and keep her on it until the last puppy leaves your house.

From what I was told, the heat cycle should still continue, and the females could still be impregnated by other males.

Edit: I have no clue if that makes sense. I was told the ***** could be bred with multiple fathers, like a cat. That was coming from a vet, so I assuming it is correct.

Breeding her has absolutely nothing to do with the bleeding. Her heat cycle will continue just as always. Since you obviously know next to nothing about breeding, please do your dog and her puppies a huge favour and spend the next 2 months educating yourself so you'll know how to look after her when she's whelping and know how to look after the litter once born. You might also want to seriously consider having her spayed once her puppies are weaned.

I believe your only solution to this problem is to get your dog spayed. If you are planning to breed her again, you will have to endure with the mess she creates.
