23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

just an addition, to those of you who claim. because god gave life he is right to take it away. man and woman GIVE life to their child, do they too have the right to take it away? note to you* biblically speaking we are children of MAN not of GOD.

You have a skewed version of who God is.

'See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.
- Deuteronomy 32:39

Just because God forbids us to murder, does not mean that He does not have the right to kill whomever He choses.

God rules the universe accordint to HIS good pleasure, not ours.

You cannot take one scripture out of the bible and say "God lied... look right here in this scripture..." There is a story there, a reason for all thats being said. God never lied, and I would be so afraid if I were you even saying that.

ALSO..... No, a man and a woman don't give a baby life. through Gods plan of conception they concive a child, but the life in that child comes from God. so God gives and God CAN take away, man gives nothing. Man has nothing that has not been given from God.

The Unforgiveable Sin is grieving the Holy Spirit. which means even as God is pleading with you through the Holy Spirit and also you keep ignoring Him, finally you'll fail to take heed to Him anymore, and also you'd be lost, yet not because of a few thing HE did. it is like placing an alarm clock for a deaf individual. God is keen to forgive ANY sin see you later as you keep the channels of communique open!

God commanded some people to kill others either out of justice or for God's glory.

Leviticus 24:13-16 Then the LORD said to Moses: "Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him. Say to the Israelites: 'Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible; anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.

Notice here he was blaspheming against God. Therefore his death was justice for what he did.

1 Sam 17:25-26 He comes out to defy Israel. Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

There is the reason why Goliath was killed. Again justice and glory.

Genesis 6:11-13 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

The story of Noah- again God's justice.

As far as Samson goes, study the history of Isreal and the Philistines. You will see again that this is justice and God's glory.

God said,"You shall not murder". It is a sin for one human to kill another for their own revenge, out of anger, jealousy, whatever. But God kills out of justice and for his glory.

As far as God creating evil is concerned, it's not the way you make it appear since you ripped it out of context. The word translated "evil" here is the Hebrew word 'ra'. 'Evil,' as used here, refers to evil of a physical nature (storms), not moral evil." Contextually, this verse is dealing with natural disasters, and human comfort issues. It is not speaking of moral evil. This is consistent with other scriptures. For example, Exodus 4:11 and Amos 3:6.

The most important part of understanding Scripture is context, but to a non-believer, context is something they will not be able to get.
God alone is allowed to pass judgement upon his children according to what is in their hearts, and as for God creating evil? understnd how the English people translated the bible in 1611, during that time, people often associated calamities like earthquakes / floods /tornadoes ect as evil, so when it says in the KJ Bible that God creates Evil, it is meant to say God creates "natural disasters". But keep reading, you might get it right someday, unless you are doing so only to attack it out of a sense of hatred and intolerence

I have children, I love them with all my heart and would do anything for them. I give them the most precious gift of all (free will) and they get to choose if they will love me back or not.

If I force them to love me it is not love.

If someone comes to harm my children I will protect them even if it means killing those that would harm them. Even those that would do the harm have had the choice of loving God and following him.

Look at the verses you mentioned, research the reasons that these things happened. The reason for the flood was because man had become so removed from God and choose not to love God. Man choose wholesale sin and God can not tolerate sin. He did find one who loved God and saved him and his family because of his love.

Their are reasons for all of these things you listed but I don't think you would really like to know because it would not support you rebellion against God. Research and you will find a loving God that was preparing a way for his children, even you.

God Bless.

sonrider --excellent verse!

Yes God's ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts- as it says in Isaiah.

Who are you to answer back to God? God holds our breath in his hands- he gives life, and he takes aways life- according to his will- and it is for His glory. Everything God does is good- even though a human mind cannot understand.
That is why it says in Proverbs 1:7 "The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge"

The main reason for this mocking of Elisha appears to be that a bald man was wearing Elijah’s official garment. The children recognized Elisha as Jehovah’s representative and simply did not want him around. They told him to “go up,” that is, keep going up to Bethel or be taken up as Elijah had been. The children evidently reflected the antagonistic attitude of their parents. How vital that parents teach their children to respect God’s representatives!

Reason why that man was stoned to death.
Leviticus 24:13-16 And Jehovah proceeded to speak to Moses, saying: 14 “Bring forth the one who called down evil to the outside of the camp; and all those who heard him must lay their hands upon his head, and the entire assembly must pelt him [with stones]. 15 And you should speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In case any man calls down evil upon his God, he must then answer for his sin. 16 So the abuser of Jehovah’s name should be put to death without fail. The entire assembly should without fail pelt him with stones. The alien resident the same as the native should be put to death for his abusing the Name.

Many of the laws given by God prescribe death penalties, but that was a strong motives for everybody not to do it.

About the account of Noah.
“Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time.”—Genesis 6:5, 11, 12.
Human rebellion was not the only reason for Jehovah’s displeasure. The Genesis account explains: “The sons of the true God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose. . . .(Genesis 6:2-4) Comparison of these verses with a statement recorded by the apostle Peter indicates that “the sons of the true God” were disobedient angels. The Nephilim were the hybrid offspring of illicit unions between women and materialized renegade angels.—1 Peter 3:19, 20.

About Samson: the philistines were always at war against Israel.
These officials they collaborated when their armies would go up against Israel. (1Sa 7:7) In the case of Samson we see them working together to overcome him. (Jg 16:5) They all gathered at the house of the god Dagon at Gaza to celebrate their capture of Samson, at which time the five axis lords then in power were killed.—Jg 16:21-30.

In taunting the armies of the living God Jehovah, Goliath sealed his own doom.

A warning to you my friend, who are we to say to God "this is wrong?"
Job 37:23 As for the Almighty, we have not found him out;
He is exalted in power, And justice and abundance of righteousness he will not belittle. 24 Therefore let men fear him.
He does not regard any who are wise in [their own] heart.”

That's a good question. It is impossible for God to sin. He is the one that created us. So he has every right to take us off this earth whenever he wants. Who are we to judge his actions?
