I was downtown today and because of all the snow and getting stuck once already, I accidently parked in a spot where I was blocking about half of the driveway to a used car dealership. I didn't realize it until I saw the damage to my car. Then I looked around to try to make sense of it. Someone broke a side window which left shattered glass all over the car and covered my daughter's booster seat. I figured it had to be the guy from the dealership and I went in and asked him why he did that. He denied it but he was quite angry and defensive. When I said that I had no money to get it fixed, he replied that I shouldn't have parked there. I went to the police dept. to report it and they said that if the guy denies it, they can't do anything. Where do I go from here?

go up and down the street and see if anyone witnessed it.

But no, the police can do a report, but without a witness, there is no way to prove he did it.

You put plastic over it, till you can afford a new window

Not much you can do. Plenty of crimes are committed whereas we know who "probably" committed it, but without a witness or admission to the crime there is nothing that can be done. CSI is not going to be called out for a misdemeanor vandalism. Chalk it up as a learning experience and tell all interested in buying a car to avoid this dealership.

There is nothing you can do. If you didn't see the person actually in the act of vandalizing your car, then you are out of luck. Watch where you park next time....lol.

Good Luck!

Turn it into your insurance agent. If you have comprehensive coverage, vandalism should be covered.

If you don't have comprehensive coverage, you're just out of luck. Unfortunately, you have no proof of who damaged your car.

Go back late at night & bust out his windows. Just watch out for cameras Big Brother is watching.
