In a word, yes. Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition. So yes. Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia.

Normally, you need to drink 1/2 an ounce per pound a day. So if you are 128 lbs that is 64 oz or a half gallon. 256 lbs is a full gallon.Don't overwork your kidneys for fun.

Your B vitamins are supposed to be the means of digesting your carbohydrates and if you drink so much water you flush them out of your system, then they're not doing the job they're supposed to do. I think it's better to drink too much than not enough, but drinking that much, you would probably flush out you sodium and potassium too which is probably what's making you so thirsty. The water isn't getting it for you and it's just making you thirstier. Can you drink orange juice or a sports drink? It might curb your thirst and satisfy your need.

No, not if your working out or are an athlete. Service Men/Women drink about 2 to 4 gallons a day during boot camp training. It really helps weight loss. You still need to eat though.

Yes. You could be stripping your body of the vitamins and electrolytes you need. Most compounds that the body produces are soluble in water and carried through the blood in water. If your body is taking in and discharging so much water you're removing those compounds from your system. I have no information or source to back me up on this but too much of anything is no good for the body.

The more water the better. The only argument I've heard about drinking too much water is that it robs your body of natural vitamins and minerals, but you can make up for that with a good diet or multivitamins. More water is better, in my opinion.

you might feel a little bloated, but if you work in a hot area or sweat alot, you just might need that much. I work offshore and in really hot engine rooms sometimes, and I am sure I have drank that much water in one day before. But if your just indoors and work out for half an hour a day or run, 64 oz is the minimum, but 1 gallon would be plenty I believe.

depends on how much you are eating to compensate with the huge amount of water. it is said that you should drink 64 oz per day so you are doing great and at least will most likely not have kidney stones or other dehydration health problems. just follow the above rule and you will be good.
