I don't know how to cook. For the thanksgiving, I want to try the fry turkey from KFC. Has anyone tried that ? Was it any good ?

In the past, I ususally buy the whole turkey dinner from supermarket chain. I want to see if there are any other options around 50 bucks.

No, I've never had it but why dont you try cooking yourself sometime. You should practice on chickens and fish when there is no special occassion. I think that all you need is a recipe, a timer, and to not be lazy. I'm usre you'd make a great cook if you put effort into it!! Good luck,

(ps. Maybe instead of turky, yo can make like 5-6 chickens in different styles, and see which one works best for you, and which one everyone really likes the best.)

Just a suggestion. I was put in the kitchen when I was 9 so I am a pretty okay cook now. And, no. I dont mean things that come in boxes. I mean I know how to make a four course meal-if provided with the ingredients and instrument-in side of four hours.

I would say your best bet is getting the HoneyBaked Turkey Breast from your local HoneyBaked Ham store which costs $24.95. Slices are also sold by the pound if you would like to spend less money. The turkey is honey glazed and really good! Call ahead to place your order since they are very busy at Thanksgiving time.

There are two flavors to chose from oven-roasted or smoked.

The side dishes they sell are garlic mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, sweet potato suffle, cinnamon apples, and more.

I haven't tried it, considering, the fried chicken isn't all that great anyway! Try doing one on your own. Trust me, it's NOT that hard! All you do is wash the bird, butter it all over, season it up, put a large peeled onion in the inside, and put it in a roasting pan, then baste it with the juices from time to time. If you get one with a timer, it will even let you know when it's done. SIMPLE!

I've never tried it, but the grocery store meals are perfectly fine. Do what you can and enjoy it. If you feel adventurous, you could try cooking the turkey in a roasting bag (foolproof!). You could stuff it with some stovetop stuffing and buy some side dishes if you like. Whatever you do, give thanks and enjoy yourself.
