This is an emergency.
Maybe the pups are dead, but at this point, you have to act fast to save the mama. Death can come pretty quickly in these cases.
RUN to the vet!

First, feel her belly very well, does it feel like there are lumps in there? Or does it feel completely empty?

If you have lumps, grab a dry towel and put a leash on her and take her for a 5 minute walk around the back yard. The towel is there just in case.
We have had good success with getting an inactive labor going again with a walk in the yard.
If you do that and nothing happens, call your vet and tell them you are on your way. (Bring the one puppy with as well). Have someone go with you if possible in case assistance is needed in the car. Once there, your vet will probably give her a shot to get the labor going again.

If you feel the belly and it feels loose and empty and mom looks well and has a look of contentedness, she may very well be done.
If you had her x rayed, that is not a good way to tell how many pups there are, I have yet to hear of an accurate count. However, 1 is a huge difference from 5.

So, first..... remain calm. Feel the belly and offer your girl some water.
Second, take a little walk around the yard. If nothing happens within 10 minutes of coming back in...
Third, call the vet and head on in.

Remember, don't worry. Puppies don't usually die in the womb, it can happen during birth, but you are probably ok and she is just having a lazy labor or she's done.
When you leave for the vet's, put a hot water bottle in a box with towels for the puppy to be in, put him in there, not with mom for the ride.
I wish you good luck!!

You need to get her to a vet immediately. They should do a c-section but will probably give her Oxytocin to try and stimulate her uterus to push out the other puppies. Is she dry? If you push a gloved finger into her vagina can you feel a puppy stuck? She probably had a bad presentation but it could be that her uterus isn't conditioned very well and is tired. Either way YOU NEED TO GO TO THE VET. Don't wait, go NOW!!!!!!!!
Edit: Green discharge means puppy in distress.

You should Call your vet. Sometimes larger dogs take longer to deliver there pups. I have a half Golden retriever and half Lab and it took her 27 hours to have 9 pups. She had her first 1 and then it was 12 hour before she had the second pup.

Is she having a bloody discharge? Or is it black? If black call your vet.

How do you know she only has 5 pups? Was she x-rayed?
