I have not so great credit, and I applied for a Sallie Mae loan. I got approved but only with a co-signer which will not work out because we dont know anyone who can co-sign. So I am wondering should I just keep appying till I get accepted.Has anyone had this similar situation with sallie Mae loans and persisted and got approved?

No, but you should stop NOW!!! Sallie Mae is horrid and they will try to own you for the rest of your existence. So...you should try other options.

You will have better luck qualifying through another student loan lender..

Sallie Mae has issues like this all of the time, and instead of working with you to come up with a solution, they just deny you and go on to the next million people callin gthem..

I work with Studnet Aid Lending, and we would have no problem qualifying you for a student loan.. In fact, there isnt even a credit check for federal student loans and direct loans...

Tak a look at my yahoo profile, and also look at my yahoo 360 page..

There is alot of useful information there to assist you in getting student loans..

You can also feel free to call or email me at any time with additional questions and concerns...

You have the wrong lender. Sallie Mae will hunt you down like a dog for their money. They will call your house 8 to 15 times a day for as long as you owe them. If you want to transfer to another lender, the new lender does not want to deal with Sallie Mae because they do not allow you to leave them and they have the rights by law. Spread the word their are a very bad lender and you will have no rights in court if you want to sue them. Sallie Mae is well protected by the big dogs. My advise to anyone reading this is to avoid Sallie Mae loans. Make sure the next lender does not affiliate with Sallie Mae. I know many people who are trapped by Sallie Mae.

Are you referring to a federal student loan, or a personal loan? If it is a federal student loan, a credit check would not even be involved. I believe Sallie Mae is a distributor of federal student loans, but I am not sure if they have private loans as well.
If it is for a student loan, your best bet is to first contact your schools financial aid office to get help with the loan application process. You should always go to your school first for questions regarding federal aide because the school will eventually have to certify the loan anyway

Sallie Mae hands me money left and right. I have never had any problems with them. Did you apply for financial aid through your school? I don't get to choose who I get my loans through. My financial aid package says I am eligible for student loans, and the school gives them to me through Direct Loans. Check with the financial aid office at the school.

No, do not keep re-applying, it looks bad on your credit.

I took a little road trip Monday and the gas was $4.01 for regular and $4.55 for diesel in the town I drove to. I filled my car up last night at $3.83. good luck with the loan!
