Okay....I had to go back and find your original question. Which was, for all you other answerers, briefly this: Her friend was struck by a truck while he was in the crosswalk crossing the street. That impact threw him into another vehicle. The friend was injured. If I understand correctly, neither driver has insurance, and one is now claiming her friend is at fault, and has even implied that her friend is/was suicidal. Whew! After all that, here's what I know, backed up by seven years of law enforcement experience: a pedestrian in a crosswalk has the right of way. The driver's at fault. That may be small comfort, and it may not help your friend to collect any money to help pay his medical expenses, but there you have it.
