It's a tug of war.
They believe that their god's law is the only law that they should live their lives by. So, knowing that the U.S. law is what actually governs them, it's the only way they can mix the two together.
They forget about the whole seperation of church and state thing....
NOT ALL of them are like this though! ;-)

Is it just Christians along? Are there other group that also that also want to legislate they're beliefs? Is it just one group only or is when one groups veiws are different?
One group doesn't like a law that is passed so they sue and some judge cancels out the law that was legally voted in. Is that then right?
No one group has the lead on legislateing law. In fact our last election in the US proves that. It is just that some are more willing to be vocal about others beliefs no matter what they are.
The fact is government passes laws on the people and imposes the governments beliefs on that of all the people.

In most countries of the world the majority religion tends to try to dictate government policy. This is true throughout world history. The Christians by no means have a monopoly on the issue. You don't like it? Ship in about 240,000,000 Muslims and lets see who feels they have the right to legislate their beliefs. Until then, get the hell over it.

that question gets asked at least once a week. you will never get the answer because I've been on the bard for a very short time and i have asked it and it has been asked several other ways. either they say why don't you just conform, or they say it's a few and they don't do it. but the ones that actually do it won't give you an original answer they'll say something like (in my own words) because god said go out and teach his word. just admit it. Christianity is the only religion that likes to harass people. the Jews don't do it the Muslims, Buddhists, or anybody else. It's a matter of people having respect for each other as people. not all of them do that. but there are some out there that have respect and they're cool.

We don't, but by the same token, whoever gets a bill passed is legislating their opinions on others. People who don't believe in God enact laws that make it legal to slaughter babies, and allow homosexuals to marry and adopt children. They are legislating their beliefs on those of us who are Christian. So what is the difference? At least the Christians are trying to do right.

Why do non-Christians feel they don't.
Everyone in America has a right to their opinion except Christians.
If you really look at the situation; Christians are the only ones that do not promote their own opinion, they promote Gods opinion and not their own.
Try looking at things from other people's point of view, you may see that they also have a right to what they believe. Even if it goes against what you believe.
God Bless

Why do liberals feel they have the right to force their beliefs down MY throat, in the form of homosexuality/gay marriages, abortion, evilution, etc.?
Our founding fathers admitted that a country that refuses to be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants. If everyone voted their beliefs, and most people are Christian, then the natural outcome will be the passing of laws that God would approve of.

Were the only ones? Why does any group, religious or political feel like they should be able to legislate their beliefs? Cause they want to, end of story.

Well, Jesus walked the earth spreading the good news--so we are just following in his footsteps and being obedient to his Word. If we are not being persecuted then we are not sharing our faith. Don't condemn us because we love you and care about eternity and where you will spend it. Be thankful that someone cares even if you hate us.
