i dont feel the necessity to argue about it. Christians take it as the main book, but only a few follows what it says.It is a marvelous literature book. I enjoy reading it as that. Above all the ancient testament
Quran is followed for almost every muslims, but Bible doesnt.. Even, it is not a book with Souras as Quran, but try to teachs us how to live and be tolerant with other people.I dont need books to believe in God..I try to live my life in the best way, without hurt anyone else
Is a pitty we human beings, still fight against each others because of religion. Why to oblige another people to think as we do?? Why if another people dont think or have the same religion are called unfaithful??? We all believe in same God, that's enough.
Force will never make people think in the way they dont want

How else do we learn? From other "YES" men and women!

It's nice to have a few Nay Sayers challenge your thinking. It sharpens your skills or alters your views a bit.

It can also influence a person into evolving a new religion that incorporates other view points, but scribes to no other existing religion.

Protestantism evolved from this exact thing. Luther aruging the Bible with the Pope, which was TABOO.

Maybe if we argue enough and change things a belief system can evolve that everyone can get behind!

Because it is human nature to argue about what cannot be proven so The Bible being based mainly of Faith in what everyone believes Jesus did has a different story about it.Example a bible published today has more edits and revisions than that of one published 200 or even 20 years ago. It also should be known that "the Church", as some call it, revise it to sell more copies to the general public

If we all agreed with one another there would be only one Religion wouldn't there, people argue about Religion and what it says in the Bible because they all think that their Religions are the Truth, so feel the need to argue for their beliefs, this will always be the case I am afraid, and of course you will get people that post questions that annoy certain Religious people with their comments, then it gets into a huge mud slinging debate

I don't. At least I try not to. I am a teacher, so what I do is that I try to help clarify the traditional teachings of the Church.

I never argue Scripture with those who are non believers. It is the duty of the Church to "promulgate" scripture. The Church has been entrusted with the Scriptures. The Church gave us the Scriptures, not the other way around.

The Fathers understood Tradition and Scripture as complementary authorities. The Fathers never pitted Scripture against Tradition or asked the question which authority was greater. Tradition was utilized not so much in providing material truths not contained in Scripture, but rather as the surest guide in interpreting the Sacred text.

Irenaeus writes: ’For how should it be of the apostles themselves had not left us writings? Would it not be necessary, [in that case] to follow the course of tradition which was handed down to those whom they did commit the Churches?’ (Against Heresies 3,4:1).

In other words, the substance of Tradition is materially coincident with Scripture.

Scripture must be read hand-in-hand with Tradition. I am in that tradition....

Thereby, it is my duty, to promulgate Holy Writ.

But argue? Nope. It's like the old adage about teaching a pig to sing...it wastes my time and annoys the pig.

Because the interpretations affect how we live our lives. I like a glass of wine with dinner. My best friend says it's a sin. If I follow his interpretation, I'm not allowed wine. Muslims say women must wear a veil. Christians say no, we're all equal before God. If we follow the Muslim interpretation, that means my wife has to dress in a way she doesn't want to.

I find people say "let's not argue" when what they really mean is "just do it my way."

Tolerance has been redefined as "acceptance" - not the act of tolerating differences. The problem comes when one group tries to force their beliefs on another group against their will.

Because the bible is just a book and some people decide to take it at its word rather than question the logic of the 2000 year old book written during a time when we still believed in dragons by men who's bodies have long turned to dust that speaks about and supports some of the worst possible things in human history.

Some believe things like "Faith Alone", which is perfectly fine, it is in scripture. There is also the passage, "Faith without works is dead". I personally believe in the latter of the two, because you can't just say "I love Jesus" and all of a sudden POOF you're saved. That's quite a concept! No, I feel you need to live a Christian life in order to be Christian. Some feel that we Catholics take the "Faith without works is dead" as we are only saved by our works. That is not the case. We believe we are saved through the grace of God, and throughout or lives we need to live by example!

There is one funny little thing i have noticed thru my life, religious debate goes nowhere, ever.

I don't feel a need to argue about the bible, if you want to ask me my views on different passages in the bible i will be happy to tell you what i think, but arguing is completely pointless.

Forgot to say something,
The 11th article of Faith of The Church of Jesus Chris of later day saints
"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may"

This includes being atheist. if you don't want to worship God, that is your choice.

well hope you guys, n ladies liked my answer.

Religion is a very personal and highly debatable subject. I myself don't "need" to argue about the Bible, but will express my beliefs when asked. It is expected of Christians to spread The Word of God, but a true Christian doesn't force the issue. Free will is God's way.
