I am not a big fan of religion. Jesus is what matters. He said he would save any one who asked Him for salvation. The Bible make it very clear that the salvation of God is a gift, it can't be earned no matter how many good works you do. This would include church membership, baptism, obedience to the ten commandments. So does religion matter.. It does if it brings you closer to Christ but it's being close to Christ that is the solution to weather you will or should be condemned. And then only God has the right to make such a judgment... Revelations 3: I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, `I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. I advise you to buy gold from me-gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. And also buy white garments so you will not be shamed by your nakedness. And buy ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference.
Luke 10:25-28 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?"
Jesus replied, "What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?"
The man answered, " `You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, `Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
"Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!"

In my opinion religion doesn't matter. It is faith that matters. If you have faith in what you believe then you are right. It doesn't have to be the catholic religion, it can be whatever. Even athiest have faith in something. You say you believe in god and the ten commandments, that is cool, as long as you try the best you can to live by that than god will know you were in the right place.
I was raised catholic and they say keep the sabbath holy. I say their wrong. Because I think you should keep everyday holy. I talk and think about god on a daily basis! I contnplate the real questions everyday. What are we here for? our purpose? etc. I think the people who just go to church on sunday and don't think about god any other time are wrong in the way they think. Most likely they are the ones that act like the asshole all week then go to church on sunday to feel good about themselves. I don't believe you have to go to church to praise god. Think about this, If god created earth than we are in his temple, right? than why do we need to go to a man made place to worship him. I don't think you are wrong at all for working on sundays. Do what you gotta do. If you are able to think about god and the real questions some of the time, and you try to live by the golden rule "treat others how you wnat to be treated". I say do what you gotta do man. and don't worry about what the others say.

Jesus said the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. If you are working to support your family then you are doing good on the sabbath and not evil. Religion is important and you should not forget to thank God for every day, no matter how hard you work or how many hours, he is busy 24/7 watching over us. How hard can it be to take a moment of each day to say thank you. That should be sufficient.

For what it's worth, I don't think it is the "Religion" that is important, but it is the essential truths that are taught. There are times we are unable to conform to all precepts of a particular religion, but because I believe God is a just and merciful God, and because we are judged according to our heart and actions, only God knows what will happen. You need to look to acheive a balance where you are satisfied and comfortable with the way you live your life (which may mean being in line with a religion, if you believe that religion to be true).

Relgion is the moral guidance. Moral guidance is food for soul. Without it we would not be humans anymore.
Religion brings forth objective believers. Without it there would be subjective believers. Thats the difference between simplicity and chaos.
Religion makes humans humble and loving. If it doesn't then it isn't a religion at all.
Religion teaches us to respect the CREATOR, because of which we automatically respect all the creations. If not, everything will be taken for granted.

Because they feel that they are superior. Don't let them get you down. Your are working and supporting your family and that is something to be proud of. So hold your head up and know that there are a lot of people just like you. You should feel sorry for the ones that condemn you because they are not showing any love or compassion for you and your circumstances.

If you work on Sundays, or not, is quite irrelevant and your own personal business.
Does religion matter?
Only if one finds themselves asking the big questions in life ....
Why are we here?
Where are we headed?
Why so much suffering?
Etc.
If you are a person who can take everything that has been created for you, enjoy it and never think of the giver of these things ................wow!

You take NO day of rest! You'll end up with a coronary!
Who cares what day it is and REMIND THEM that the PRIEST is WORKING ON THE SABBATH!
Also remind them the Jewish Sabbath is Friday night to Saturday night, that's when JESUS practised it!
