With all the walking shoes out there today I am completly lost. Can anyone let me know which brand is the best for walking? Trying not to get the most expensive, but all opinions are welcome.

I walk flat footed and have an orthopedic surgon who helps me. He told me when looking for shoes make sure they have good arch supoort. A good key is to try and bend them in half. If they don't bend at the arch but bend at the toes then the shoe is good. If it bends then the shoe isn't that great. I go through the stores and bend them all and from what I noticed Nike and Puma are stylish but lack the arch support for your foot. New balance seems to have the most solid arches that can resist pressure from your foot and Adidas is runner up. Go with what you enjoy but try to make sure the arch doesn't bend it will help your feet be happy.

I really like Reeboks and Asics..They both offer well made, comfortable cross-training and running/walking shoes.
I prefer these two brands over brands like Nike or Adidas because of the quality and reasonable price of their products. Nike is known for making poor quality shoes that fall apart much quicker than other brands, and it's a toss up as to whether you'll get what you want out of a shoe for the price you pay for Adidas.

Good Luck! :)

Adidas and Nike make good ones for walking. They aren't expensive at all either, you don't need fancy shoes for walking.
