I think it depends on what you are classifying as dating. I think most adolescents have school yard…this is my boyfriend…this is my girlfriend I guess starting at 10. I think going to the mall or movies with a group is ok at like 13. When my sister (2 yrs older than me) started to date my mother would make me go to the movies with her or just hang around as her watchful eye, at the time I think she was about 14 or 15. I think once your child starts driving all bets are off unless you have a lojack on them it’s really hard to know exactly what they are doing unless you have already established that you trust them to do what is right..kids will be kids though. If your child turns 16 or driving age and has never been out on a “date” chances are that child will go buck wild.

I will be honest my first boyfriend was at 14 but when you are that young, you really don't know or understand what you are doing. I did things that I should not have. Wait until you are 21.

16, you will have your driver's lisence and able to go out on an actual date. Any younger and you would just be hanging out with your parents or being chauffered around.
