Today I went to purchase lemons and they were $2 for just 3 lemons! The price of limes were $2 for 8. Why the difference?

I recall seeing a report about this on the news a few months ago and I believe they said that the price of lemons and oranges were going up over the winter due to flooding in Florida or something of that nature.

Mexico and South Texas tend to supply most of the Nation with Lemons, and Limes and since the harvest was not as normal, the supply is low, yet the demand is sustaining. Also Lemons like all other forms of citrus are summer fruits, and since we are going into winter, there is less available.
