Everyday i get off work, i have these tracts on my windshield about accepting christ and all that. EVERYDAY! I am sick and tired of it. Is there anybody you can call or anything to do to stop it. I go to church and i am a christianlike person but i just think they go to far. Sometimes when i go into work, they have people standing outside handing tracts out. Please help me. Anything i can do to stop it?

I too am Christian, and yes, sometimes people trying to do the right thing go too far, especially if they are doing it EVERYDAY. They want to FORCE FEED their beliefs rather than making a respectful presentation. If you are at work, I would assume that you park on private property. If so, the church should be contacted and told not to hand out their literature on this property any more. If they continue, they you have legal ground to involve the law.

Aaron, you write you're a "christianlike person," but you take offense when a fellow Christian performs the "great commission"? This is a commandment, one of the few we have. Why would this annoy you?

Instead of taking offense, try this:

1) realize the person who placed this on your windshield is being obedient to God. Doesn't that make you happy, particularly in this godless world?

2) keep the tracts. Maybe you'll meet someone who could use them.

3) start to evangelize, too. I promise: it's HUGELY rewarding! Only someone who's done it can truly appreciate the love it takes to do this. You don't have to pass out tracts; there are other ways to do it. But they all have the same result: spreading the Gospel to a world that despirately needs it.

Peace.

Put a note on your car where they usually put the tracts asking them, politely, to not put notes on your car anymore. If you want you can delve further into explanation about why you don't want them on your car, that you are a christian ,etc. You can say what you want in the note, just know that if they're respectable christians they'll accept your wishes. When people are standing outside handing out tracts...well there really isn't anything you can do except suck it up and move on, don't let it bother you or put you in a bad mood.

Can you get the bossman to put up a no soliciting sign. I know at publix grocery stores you cannot hand out fliers or tracts of any kind...I forgot what it is they have posted but surely you could take it up with human resources or something.

the next time someone starts to give you a tract tell them politely you are not interested as you are satisfied with your own Religious Belief System. if this doesn't work you might want to check with your police department to determine if there is a law which might be enforced against these people.

Collect a shyteload of them, then take them all at once and dump them on their steps and scream SPECIAL DELIVERY!!!! When they see the amount of TRASH they are handing out, it might slow down.... Works against AOL, when a guy collected a rental truck FULL of AOL cds and drove them to headquarters and dumped them in the parking lot. Notice how you dont get those things once a month in the mail now??

Prepare some for yourself, saying whatever you'd like, and hand Them to those who are handing them out!

You won't get anywhere by getting angry; that just makes it worse. Try to find out who is doing it, and invite them to lunch to talk with you.

It's not that they go too far, it's that most Christians don't go far enough.
