I usually think about him all the time whether i'm at work or doing something else. It isn't letting me enjoy my life.
People tell me to block him from online and erase his number and i've done all that, but it doesn't work. i'e even gotten rid of things he's given me and things i've written for him. no more pictures. but i still have issues.
what can i do? the psychologist just says the same things...

i've tried everything imaginable. i've dated other people. I think it is because we broke it off only two months ago and have been sleeping together within those two months

How long has it been since you and your ex broke things off? It will take time before you form new habits and make enough changes in your own life so that you don't miss the relationship. Try replacing your ex with someone new and focusing on him. It'll have to be someone that really grabs your attention to enable you to crowd out the thoughts about your ex. Keep trying--it gets easier.

Do any and everything you can to occupy your mind for the next 6 months. Try exercising, get a new hobby, anything that will continuously distract you. In time, you will think about him less. All you can do is give it time, get a great support group of friends who you can call everytime you think about calling him and talk to them about ANYTHING but him. It's a hard battle in the beginnig but as time goes on and you get more involved in other things, you'll have less time to think about him. Good luck.

Oh my god I am in the same situation. but the only difference is that my ex was my fiance and he refuses to accept that he's an ex. And for some reason I Tell him we are not together, but when he calls I just naturally go along with the conversation. To tell you the truth I can tell you what to do . this answer was basically to let you know that you are not the only one in this situation.

stay busy and think about other things be it work your friends your family whatever start a project of some sort so you will keep your mind occupied and off him. tell your friends what youre going thru so they can help and hang out with you and take your phone away and tell you not to call him/text/im him talk to someone else instead of him.. and talk to someone else ABOUT him trust me it helps to get out all the things that are bothering you and you miss about him. it will help you to move on and find someone new and better.

Only time will help you get over something like that. NO CONTACT, NO SEX. Thats why you're still hooked on him. You have to let it go or you will just make yourself hurt for that much longer.
