John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through me.

I believe the only people going to Heaven are those with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Well, I cannot give you my opinion on such an important subject, but rather what Scripture tells us.
Believe that Christ died for your sins and accept His sacrifice and turn from your sins. When you have decided to do this, you should be baptized as a public show of your decision to follow Christ. There is only one form of baptism condoned by the Bible, and that's full-body immersion. All other forms are man-made and created for convenience, but are not Scriptural. Once you are baptized, you need to turn from all previous sins and bad habits, because you are now a "new person" in Christ. You buried your old life in the waters of baptism. The 10 Commandments show how a new Christian should behave.

To start with one must be born again John 3:1-21 for except a man be born again he cannot see heaven. One must believe that his sins are forgiven. In order to have our sins forgiven we must also forgive others their sins against us. " But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" Matt. 6:15, This takes faith, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him;for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Heb.11:6.Now is where love comes in,for I can speak with the tongue of an Angel,Have the gift of Prophecy,Understand all Mysteries,All Knowledge,Faith to move Mountains,Give all my goods to Feed The Poor,Give my Body to be Burned, and have not Charity,it profit me nothing. 1 Cor.11:1-3 and to the end of the chapter. At this point in our walk with God we got Gifts and Talents. We have the Parables of the Virgins five wise and five foolish, all were Virgins but what did the wise do ?Kept Oil in their Lamps, but the foolish were not guilty of lust, murder, lying or anything like that. The only thing they were guilty of was doing nothing. The same with the One who buried his talent,he even gave it back at the Lord's return saying he had Lost Nothing. The Lord cursed him, took his talent away, and told His servants to cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. He was a servant, but an unprofitable one.Matt.25:1-30.But the Profitable Servant and the Wise Virgin's entered in to the Joy of the Lord. Some people might call this works, but I call it Fruit, for by their Fruit ye Shall Know Them,Matt 7:16.Fruit is Love,Joy,Peace,Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith,Meekness,
Temperance;against such there is No Law.Gal. 5:22-24."But wilt thou know,O vain man, that Faith Without Works Is Dead ? Bare in mind that Faith puts one to Action. If I believe in something it causes me to do something,I can't help it.It is like being in a row boat, one oar says Faith, the other oar says Works. Now I want to Go Foward and not off to the side.Works is the Fruit of my Faith, and Faith unless it is dead will bring forth Works. Many today are singing"Standing on the Promises" ,but all their doing is just "Sitting in the Pews". These need to be Awakened,Revived and those who are spiritual should be setting that example and not just talking about it.

my mother believes no matter what awful things you do, as long as you go to confession you are absolved and will go to heaven. i don't believe that.

i have friends who believe its all a bunch of hogwash made up to try and encourage people to be nice to each other.

I think heaven is a state of mind and it is different for everyone.
It is your own personal beliefs and your faith that guides you throughout your time here. i believe in "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", be good and kind to people you meet. show respect to people and you will be rewarded by going on to a better life when you leave this one.

Revelation 14:1-4 says that only 144,000 goes to heaven. We have the wonderful hope of living forever on earth. Psalms 37:11 says the the "Meek will possess the earth and find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." But this requires taking in Knowledge of of God. (John 17:3)

Accept Jesus as your savior first. I beleive if you do this and have a good heart, God considers you his child. If you are a child of God, you will be allowed into the kingdom of Heaven. Going to church is a great thing spiritually, but I do not beleive that you have to attend to get to heaven. If you are living your life right and for God's will, you should not have any worries.

I have asked a similar question twice over the last two days.
Give an account of what happens in heaven on a day to day basis.
It appears no one has reached there yet which leads me to believe heaven does not exist and it is one big con.
Yee olde carrot and the stick.

Interesting that the atheists who responded to your question are so quick to conclude based on absolutely no evidence one way or the other.....as they see it. Some may conclude that their position is, by definition, irrational.

But I digress.

I believe you get to heaven by following God's will and that means following His plan, of which Jesus Christ is the key component.

(My conclusion is based upon plentiful evidence that I have observed in my own life.)

you get in to heaven by being pleasing to God, this is to say, be free of sin, the only way in which you do that is by confession , where God works through the priest to absolve you of your sins.

One can only go to confession if one has been baptised, this is why baptism is so very important as well.

and I am a Catholic
