Our government for not enforcing laws on the books, or securing the borders.

Companies that hire illegal workers and look the other way.

Those neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers who have illegal immigrants cutting lawns and doing work that they prefer to hire out.

They are contributing to the erosion of our country as a strong economic backbone of this continent. It is not “convenient” to go pick up a day laborer to do work on the yard or house – it is a crime.

Its sad really, I was working in Hermosillo, Sonora for the last 1.5 years with an automaker. A lot of middle class Mexicans are actually against (or don't care) about illegal immigration to the US. The Mexican government seems to think that this is a solution to their economic woes because it provide jobs to their people (jobs that they the Mexican government cannot provide) & it brings income to their nation.

The real culprits is the ineffective Mexican government & I know President Fox has really tried but it takes time & he has to undo 75 years of rubbish from the previous government.

It will be tougher for Mexico with India & China taking away investors. Its too bad, with NAFTA, Mexico really had a lot to gain by opening up regulation for investors to open factories in Mexico but there is a lot of corruption still.

Its too bad, Mexicans are hard working people but their leaders seem to think selling their workers abroad is the quick & easy way to solve their economic problems.

Everyone knows a strong Mexico will be good for us, we cannot stop immigration especially if our poorer neighbours is just south of us but a strong Mexico will create a buffer for us. Remember Mexico is a huge-long nation (i.e. a huge buffer like Canada).

Elected officials who have forgotten that it is us they work for and citizens who take their responsibility of voting lightly. Notice I did say responsibility of voting and that is what I mean. Voting is not just a right it is also how we can hold our governments power in check. Look at what Ca did to Grey Davis now that sent a clear message of who runs the country. If voters don't utilize their power our government will only look out for their pocket book and the lifetime politician will run the show but if we vote out the ones who do disservice to the country then we can and will as a democracy rule our country.

The government of Mexico. Extreme corruption and a huge gap between the rich and poor in that country. Politicians there are more concerned about lining their pockets, than providing sustainable jobs for the people.
