It depends on the city and region in the country Different regions have different city and inner city issues I have lived in many cities and city wide curfews for teens was acted for different reasons from the ridiculous to the dangerous. If you could give me a more defined idea on city type population location i then could give you the answers you are looking for. For this are part of the factor to your question when the city officials make a decision to enact a curfew it is not made lightly it includes what is based on the community norm and the disruption of that norm.

Keeping other teenagers in the house and busy is a good thing because i remember that last summer i stayed up until 4AM my parents did not know about it. I told my parents that i was going to scout camp my parents said ok have fun, anyways where i really went was to my friends house for a sleep-over and i was way up really late and in the middle of the morning i had to go home so i did and my parents asked me why did i return back early then i said because of incliminate weather.Every thing went fine after that.

curfews are not always the answer, I think a safe place for the age groups are better.
Creating a safe place for the kids to go, under supervision to hang out.

Letting kids out too late is like leaving matches next to a baby and then leaving the room. There is less supervision at night and less people that will notice things that go on.

well the main thing would be to keep kids out of trouble. their is no reason for somone 17 and under should be out roaming the streets after 10pm, unless they are up to no good. during the week kids should be in the house, either doing homework, chores, or helping their parents out. too much goes in now a days for them to be out....

It lets the parents know that their kids will be home at a certain time. It'll get kids home in time to get home work done. It get kids home to make sure that there is no trouble around. Parents like to go to sleep at night and they want to rest assured that their kids are at home and not in trouble..I can say more but too lazy to type.

Well, homey...Allows families to spend more time together. It might reduce car accidents and crime among yound adults, and it would allow more time for homework or studying. Is that good? That last one wasn't too good, but oh well..Hope I helped.

teenagers need curfews
law enforcement needs to utilize their manpower at night protecting everyone from criminals...get the teenagers off the street--less trouble, fewer dead teenagers who do stupid things, and longer life for their worried parents.
