Since you've been committed to him for so long, before going on, write him a letter and let him know that you have an itch that you need to scratch, chances are he'll understand because he would do the same and let it go from there. Men that are in prison are usually very understanding, I had to tell my ex that is serving 9 years that I was pregnant with another man's baby and that I had no intentions of being with him when he got out... I thought he'd be pissed but he totally understood (he was a little disappointed but that's to be expected) and we are still friends and write on a regular basis. It'll all work out. You just have to tell him first and foremost, just out of respect for him and the relationship that you had.

Well sorry to hear about that. But you should go out and have fun. You shouldn't be home just waiting around for him to do his time. Girl..just by going out doesn't mean you are going to cheat or anything. If you really love the guy well just waste time it doesn't really have to be at a club or anything. It can be with your friends going to movies and to the mall. It waste precious time and make the best of it.

He's not your spouse. Go out. Unless you're married, you're free to date others. He may have trouble understanding. After all, you are a connection with the outside world but if he were in your shoes he would likely do the same.

Go out! You're wasting precious time by waiting on someone who probably isn't going to make a good partner in the long run.

When my boyfriend was in jail and I sat home (I was only allowed to go to work) and paid all the bills and waited every night for him to call collect, he did not one night (call). It was my birthday. I went out the next day (I was angry and hurt)- he finally got out on a work release and he and his mother came over and threw me out. There's a lesson here for you about boyfriends in jail. They might get out but they also usually get worse. Dump him. Go out and live your life!

Go out with friends. You should also seriously think if this relationship is worth waiting for him to get out. Is he worth it? If not you should meet someone new.

move on...geeze why sit around and wait for nothing. Your life ended just because his did...Its not your fault he is where he is. I cannot believe people that get locked up expect you to wait around for them. Move on, you dont want a criminal anyways. Waste of society!
