It depends on the pollution,the one that the environmentalist think causes global warming and that is CO2. by OSHA standards the first alarm point is 35 ppm. U should be able to live at this level for 8 hr. with little or no side effects.If u measure it it will be 1 to 2 ppm. and that is because the plants take in CO2 and give off oxygen.

read this from the newsapaper by a chinese doctor.....if u are indoor, u can bring water to boil and let the water vapour 'soak up' the pollutants in the air.
