Think about it, since the only real comfort and answer is the conclusion that whatever is in store is between you and God directly, wouldn't that make all the hell-fire preachers and major religions unnecessary since they need to encourage their teachings and commands to keep followers?

If the simple answer is 'its between you and God' existed, and it was private and personal, it would be human nature and a matter of time before this belief was concluded as 'wrong and unnatural' by a spiritual leader, who in turn says this to become noticed and more important.

"You need our book to understand you can't do it alone'

"You must follow our laws or you'll be punished dearly after death'

How do they know? They've never died and seen whats in store, they're simply re-telling stories of heresay are they not?

The comfort IS that the final choice is yours alone, not theirs, and I guess it saddens me when people give up themselves to follow so obediently to flawed teachings.....

Yes, I agree with you. I have been told its between me and God but that I also need to go to church and read the bible to have that relationship. I don't like religion because it dictates how I am supposed to think about Christanity or whatever religion you want to talk about. I believe that you can be a good Christian or w/e without having to go to church and read the bible. But perhaps if this were the case there would be no need for churches and such. And what gets me the most too, is even if you are Christian and go to church you will find some other Christian telling you its the wrong church and the wrong way to believe. Geez, you believe in God, Jesus Christ, what have you, what more do you need?

you want really to bypass searching you and heavily study each and each and every project you note, be it living or inert. No random coincidence may have ever planned this style of organic progression from not some thing in any respect to the wonders you may carry on your hand. study a leaf and study how that's designed to modify sunlight into nutrients for itself. that variety of Engineering outcomes from sensible making plans and allocation of the precise variety of Neutrons to any particular nucleus as a thanks to form any between the better than ninety aspects that make up count number. The extra you study atomic structure and the make-up of count number, the further you keep in mind that it can not "only ensue". It took making plans that stretched Eons into the destiny commencing with not some thing yet electric powered impulses for raw supplies.

No, why would it discourage? I think the problem with most religious fanatics fanatics is that they put it between themselves, God, you, me, and the rest of the world. My relationship with God is between God and me. It's a personal thing. If more people were to keep it between God and themselves the world would be a better place. Enact laws that are best for society. Behave in a way such that your religion dictates.

No it does not make structured religion unneccessary. But, when it comes down to whre you stand with God, thats between you and God. But God tells us to fellowship together, with fellow believers and we all need this. we are there for one another, and learn from each other. But, much of structured religion is false, because it is all man man rules and not Gods rules.
You must find a church that preaches only the true word of God and nothing else. and encouraged unity of faith and in the truth.
God says if we love Him, we will obey Him. that simple. and He says to stay in fellowship with each other. Much to study in scripture, read it for hyourself. We can do nothing alone. Its is God that leads and teaches.
and yes you must follow Gods rules or go to hell. He says if you love me, you will follow me. Loving him alone isnt enough. Remember the devil was once in heaved and loved God, but we all have free choice. the devil wanted power himself and was full of pride. He lost the gift of heaven. and cant get it back. Belief isnt enough, as the devil still believes.
retelling stories of heresay???? NOT even close. PPl have died and been brought back and told stories of all they saw and heard, and its amazing how most tell the same similiar stories, and didnt want to come back to earth, cause heaven was so beautiful. those that started to hell wanted back tho and most of those choose God from then on. And, when you have your own experiences in the supernatural realm with GOD , you KNOW.
Yes, in the end , we alone have the final choice of heaven or hell. God doesnt reject us. But, when we reject Him, its hell. no other options.
One thing we do agree on tho... is we arent to be blindly following anyone. so many false teaching outs there and more coming all the time, due to the fact these are the last days. devil doesnt have long. and he is giving it all he has. We are to only follow God, and check all things according to His word, and if we dont study it, we dont know what He is saying.
I encourage you to study and pray and find out for yourself.
as long as you ask questions and search for truth, you will find it. Its when ppl wont look, that they neever find. Ask God to become real to you....... I will pray this.

Perhaps, but God chooses to work through people. So while the concept of "its between you and God" is a true one, we learn truth by others teaching and preaching to us (either by word or by lifestyle, preferably both.). So when we hear people encouraging us to get nearer to God by having that personal relationship, perhaps we should listen. That's one of the things about the Christian faith that I find compelling - a personal relationship with a personal God. And it's that relationship with Jesus that gives us salvation - not obeying rules.

In my opinion, most preachers and ministers are not trying to come between you and God. They are "tools", God is using to help you understand your relationship with Him.
I was raised Catholic, but I was never comfortable with Confession. To me, my sins ARE between me and God, not - me, a priest and God. I pray all the time and ask God directly for forgiveness. The fact that Jesus died for my sins guarantees that He has / will forgive me. (Please don't misunderstand me - I don't use this as an excuse for sinning, I just know that when I do, I am forgiven!)
May God bless you! :-)

The fact is that stuctured religion is important for enabling cooperation and love between human beings. While there have been despotic religious leaders, individuals should be given enough trust to decide whom to follow. Maybe we shouldn't concern ourselves with seeing to it that there is no religious leadership and rather seek to oust bad leadership and perserve moral leadership.

Religion is a slick road to hell,a grave with both ends knocked out.If you truly want to be saved you must be born again by the blood of Jesus and have a personal relationship with him.

Maybe. But its what I believe. My life, my sin, my choice, my faith, my salvation, between me and God alone. Noone will stand next to me on Judgment day and pay the price for me, noone will stand up for me and argue my point. I will do that alone. It IS between me and God alone, everyone else is unnecessary.
