I draw blood in my job as a lab tech and really don't understand why people get so upset about it. Some guy comes in covered in tatoos and then whines when getting his blood drawn. What is that???? It is no worse than getting a sticker in you foot, or nicking your finger while cutting vegetables. The more you tense up the more it will hurt and the harder it is to get blood. Newborn babies get blood drawn, if its safe to do to them it will certianly be alright for you. What is the worst that can happen? It will hurt a little and you'll get a big bruise. The best you won't hardly feel it and you won't even be able to see where the needle was. So what's to panic over? You'll be fine.

you won't get completely over it by tommorrow, no matter what you read here. however, the one best thing you can do is absolutely DON'T WATCH. the nurse will probably say, "you'll feel a pinch". Just look away until it's over. If you're chatty, keep talking the small talk all through it.

It's not the needle, it's what's in it and where they stick it that causes the pain.

Tetanus shots typically hurt like hell because the stuff burns and they shoot it deep into a muscle. Blood tests typically are nowhere near as painful as that.

Relax... you'll be fine.
My best advice would be to bring someone with you (for distraction) and look away when they are taking the blood. Best of luck!

best take an anesthesia the total one that is taken orally and knocks you out for a few hours then tell them to draw blood. it will not hurt

FOCUS ON SOMETHING BIGGER THAN THAT LIKE DEATH ....YOU NKOW YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT THAT BIG,,REMEBER THAT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE DYING EVERYDAY compare to your problem :))))))))) its not a big deal,,to lessen your fear, compare yourself to other people who have bigger problems like those who lost their love ones.
