There is probably nothing wrong with him. If you're worried just ask about it when they have a check up. There are often a lot of differences in families. Michael Jordan was 6'6 and his older (full-blooded) brother only grew to be 5'7. Another example is two brothers I know well. They are 22 months apart, and when they were 15 and 13 the older brother was 5'10 and 200 pounds, and the younger brother was 5'3 and 100 pounds. Now that they are full grown the older brother is a 6'1 and 275 pound weight lifting football player. The younger brother is 6' and 155 pounds, and is skinny with very little muscle mass. Sort of a reversal of what you're talking about, but you can see the brothers have very different body types and that the short one did have a late growth spurt and is tall too.

You can evaluate the issue by looking at pediatric growth charts.

They were published by an official government agency in 2000 (the CDC). See second link below. The first link explains how to look at them.

Growth is to some extent controlled by genetics, which you can't change, and diet, which you can. If your children are getting lots of different kinds of food, with plenty of calories, fat, and protein, then they'll be fine.

There is always something to worry about as a mommy, isn't there?!? Kids are just different sizes, he'll probably have a growth spurt before you know it. It'll be fine, nothing is wrong. My daughter is really short too (but then again, so am I) :)

What growth shots? Some kids are just bigger than others. Do you take them to the doctor? The doctor will usually chart their growht and tell you how they are doing. You can chart their growth yourself.
Try this website www.cdc.gov/growthcharts
If your 4 year old doesn't fall on the chart then you need to take him to the doctor. He should be at least 37 inches tall.

They are all different. Talk to your doctor and make sure that there is nothing medically wrong with him (probably nothing though) They all grow at different rates. Your two year old might slow down and your 4 year old might just "shoot up" one day. Your 2 year old might be tall for his age.
