What's a good mousse or gel for a kid's hair (boy - 7 yrs old)? The person that cuts his hair just told me to try different products and I don't want to blow a lot of money on crappy products. I'm looking for something I can use on his hair to make it look a little nicer for dressy occasions, church, pictures, etc. Any ideas??

Bed Head is a good product that hold well. I use that on my sons when they want spikey hair and it holds all day.

L'Oreal has a whole kids line. I don't think that hair gel matters as much as shampoo when it comes to kids products. The kids shampoo has kid smells and is tear proof. Neither are much of a factor for gel. I would use whatever product you use on your hair. Fruitise(sp) has some really cool stiff type gels I use to set my spiky do's. They come in a little round container for about $3. I put it in after my hair is dry and it stays all day. works on wet hair too.

I and my children have used Suave, inexpensive and works well. The gels also do not get flaky or gummy, as some of the more expensive brands do.

Mousse is mousse. I don't think you can go too wrong with it. Just pick a brand that you trust and see if they make mousse too.
