i saught out a debt settlement company that is working for us with the credit card companies and they are refdusing to work with the settlement company so i am going to try and work out an arrangment with to pay what i can.

Yes, they can place a lien on your home. But they will most likely work on garnishing your wages or bank accounts first.

You have to agree for a lien to be put on your house. For example, when you take out a mortgage, you sign a security agreement stating there's a lien on your house. If you have an unsecured card, then they can't put a lien on anything. They CAN come after you and file suit against you FOR a lien on your property, but that takes foroever, so they probably wouldnt do that. If you have a secured card, you have already agreed that they can put a lien on whatever is in the security agreement.

Unless you signed an agreement using your home as security, the credit card company cannot place a lien against your home. Most credit cards are considered "Unsecured Debts".

you can get a lein put against your home at any time. i dont think credit companies can put the lien against your home but it will be a judgment on your credit.
