geeez people get a grip! he is not the cure all for all of your dogs problems.....proper training is and to actually take the time to train your dog. going to a obedience class helps teach you to train your dog but it doesn't end there! it is a continuous thing everyday!! all I have seen lately is "my dog whines" or he "poops and pees in the house" and on and on....a pet isn't a picture on a wall that you look at once in a while when you have the time...it is a responsibility...that is up to you as the owner to take care of and turn your little puppy into a well mannered and loved member of your family...there is no such thing as an easy answer it takes your time and a heck of a lot of patience to have that wonderful dog!

Missy I don't think he was saying anything negative about you asking. He was wanting to know why so many people give the answer as cesar milan. No offense to Cesar he's taken it to a new level but this guy is right he is not a cure all. I own a full pack of five and foster five to seven dogs on top of that (usually with behavior problems)

Cesar Milan is for the "dog dumb". Im glad he is there to help who ever he can but anyone with any experience with dogs knows the same things and other tricks to help. He is not the answer to every dog behavior problem. The only answers someone can give are suggestions and it is up to the owner of the pet to follow through and get in touch with your own pet.

Yes, a lot of people, me included, recommend his website because his methods WORK. Also, some people do not have a clue as to how to correct the problem they are having. Cesar is NOT A DOG TRAINER! He is a a person who can read the dogs and teach the OWNERS how to correct the problems by retraining THEM not the dog. Have you ever watched his show? If not you should and if you have all the knowledge and don't need any more, great. Some people do not. That is why they ask the questions. I am glad you knew how to train your GSD. They are a wonderful breed and I have had several in my life. Hope things continue well for you and your dog.

People tell other to watch the sow becasue it is an easy way for some people to learn about tips and techniques to train their dogs.
I feel that wnyone who owns a dog should train with the dog. If people spent time teaching the dog how they would like it to behave everyone would have better behaved dogs.
It takes time and effort to have a well mannered dog. People will not take responsibility for anything they do let alone what their dog does.
The hardest part of my work is getting the human to follow through with what I have suggested them to do to fix the dogs problems. If they did what I asked things would be fine but they do not.
He is not the cure for all dog problems TRAINING is the cure for all dog problems. Training and consistancty and patience make a well behaved well adjusted dog.

I work with animals. I work in rescue. I am only taking my GCSE's at the moment, but already, without sounding big headed, know much more about animals than most adults, because of my work, which is voluntary.

I have a rescue dog from Sri Lanka who survived the Tsunami. It took a lot of work with her as she had been in quarantine with six months. Without the time spent teaching her that chewing doors and rugs and weeing everywhere was not going to get me home any quicker she soon learnt.

The fact is, these people give themselves titles with whisperer on the end to make them sound like the perfect solution. Day to day training is what is needed and of course a bit of savvy. If you let your dog get away with everything you are going to have trouble. You caused the problem so why not sort it too.

All these whisperers do is charge a blooming fortune. They are the same as a normal trainer, but for some reason are seen as superior last resorts.

Actually this is a site for advice. Most of these people are asking advice because they dont know what to do. Sounds to me like you have never had a dog or puppy. It does take a lot of patience and obviously you dont understand that people are asking "how to" on here. Yes i asked how to stop my puppy from whining. If youve had a dog these problems arent going to be stopped instantly by taking obedience classes. Some of us cant get to obedience classes or whatever. So unless you are the dog whisperer i bet youve wondered too.

I agree, however I consider what so much humans imply once they inform them to observe the exhibit isn't to duplicate his ways, however study approximately puppy habits, and probably additionally study why their puppy does what they do and easy methods to resolve it. Since his exhibit covers such a lot of subjects, from obsession to dominance to worry to aggression, barking, hyperactivity, 'OCD'-like behaviors, you are certain to ultimately trap an episode that addresses the identical concern you are having along with your puppy! But fairly, if the individual comes to a decision to head forward and watch it and comply with his strategies, it is their fault that the puppy bit them or something. They must continually remind themselves that Cesar is a reputable, AND frequently it is larger to only move forward and speak to for reputable support as a substitute of paying attention to any person on the net. Plus, such as you mentioned, there are warnings to seek advice a reputable first, sooo.
