I just wondered who all owns Dachshunds out there and don't you think they are the most adorable things in the whole world? Do they sleep with you under the covers at night? Does yours grunt if things dont go his way? Does it have 10,000 squeaky toys? Tell me about your weenie dogs.

My 3 year old mini dachshund is a male, smooth coat who has no idea that he is a dog. He thinks he is a person just like us. He has a great personality and is very expressionative. He loves his family soooo much. (and most everyone else too) We get greeted at the door by him every time we come in the house. It's as if we have been gone for days even if we were only outside for 10 minutes. He is also VERY intelligent. He also knows if one of us are sick. He lays right beside us as if he is watching over us. I dont know what I would do without him. He is truly a member of our family.

We have a standard, long haired, black with brindle points, male. Most lovable little guy that loves to be with the people all the time! Hogs the pillows at bed time and will also demand to go to bed when he's ready, with our without us! LOL! A little dog with a big dog complex who is fierce as ever until face to face, then turns tail and runs to us for protection. Leery of strangers, but warms up quickly. Lives to chase a tennis ball and watches over our children all the time. I wouldn't trade him for the world!

My family has had dachshunds as long as I can remember. All of them liked burrowing under covers. They are very cute. One male liked pulling his covers out to the backyard to air out each day. As for squeaky toys, Tigger loved his plush squeaky camel. Nylabones are the favorite toys of her current doxies.

I don't remember any of them grunting when things didn't go their way.

Well,I used to have a Dachshund a year back and she was then 8 years old.She was so adorable and so much a "human".No matter what the hell you do to them, they still come back to you and love you,the same way.We used to call her "Ginny".She used to understand every word we uttered and was always happy whenever she used see us and always greeted with a jump.I miss her very much and hope n pray that she's fine wherever she is.She was an angel.

We always had them when I was growing up and now my best friends Mom breeds them. She has had one of her dogs at Westminister dog show.
They are great dogs lots of fun and they have so much personality.
One of ours used to sleep under the covers. She loved to dig and try to catch ground squirrels. She did not catch many but she loved to try. She would have been a great dog for the earth dog trails.
