Beware using CSV- If your data has any commas in it, it will give strange results - mixed up input data. Try saving your data in a newer format or strip out any commas

CSV is one format. I trust you know that CSV means "comma separated value," that each field (item) of information is separated by a comma, and each records ends with a "return" or "enter."

With this format, you can import it into almost any data program you can think of -- Excel, Access, etc.

The old DOS (ASCII) enclosed each field in quotation marks, then separated the fields with a comma. ASCII means American Standard Code for Information Interchange and is pretty much universally accepted.

I have never worked on a Mac, but I'm pretty sure you would be able to import a CSV or ASCII file into a Mac datafile.
